March Loot! (minus BL doujins, to your luck >:3)

It’s been a while since I’ve done a “loot” post! I’m quite excited mostly because of one item in particular, which is my first of its kind for me to have gotten ever So without further ado, here’s my March loot (minus yaoi doujins!)

So here’s my March items. To be honest, I’m not gonna talk that much about the Tomoe Mami Nendoroid because 1) this Nendoroid was probably already talked about a whole lot already by other people and 2) Please don’t make me take her out of the box, I’m tired ^^U

I got the manga in Barnes & Noble “Bride’s Story” yesterday; while I don’t wanna shop there that much, Bride’s Story has a great book format, hardcover with a slip cover, very fancy for manga standards! and when they come like that, I want the paper to be perfect (no creases, rips, etc) so I had to get it I love Kaoru Mori’s extreme attention to detail (it’s insane at times, she hand draws all the fabrics’ patterns instead of just using a premade one), her art is great!

This time around, the main character, Amir, is a lot more interesting than Emma. She’s kind of a tomboy, but still very girly and capable of all the housewife bullshit Emma (and William) always felt kind of bland, the secondary characters were more interesting than her, but her relationship with William is what set off all the side stories and other characters’ developments, so it’s still a great manga. Not to mention the insane detail to the art (and the accuracy of London and its culture). By the way I still rage with the intensity of a thousand red suns when I think of the debauchery that was the US edition of Emma, it was disgusting (horrible, cheap paper, lousy format, crappy translations, overpriced shit… =_=), I could never bring myself to buy it… but with Bride Story the edition is as perfect as you can expect! I still kinda prefer some scanlation translations choices though, and the paper could be a tad better (I’m a book nazi, as you can see)

This wasn’t included in the main shot, but it’s a headphone/earphone cord roll from Puella Magi Madoka Magika! it’s a very simple but effective accessory to have around (heck, you can handmake them to a certain extent if you want), so if you wanna have some Puella Magi related merchandise but are kind of tight in money, this is it! In fact, Amiami is having them on sale for in INSANE DISCOUNT: Madoka is only 105 yen (88% off), Sayaka is 157 yen (82% off) and Homura and Mami are 315 yen (64% off) each. INSANE INSANE, GO GET ONE It looks like I’m promoting Amiami, but who wouldn’t with those crazy discounts @_@). I actually got one of each because I’m a shopping whore

Here’s the one item I’m most excited for, the Smile Precure Pact! (I know I know, a grown woman buying Magical Girl toys… bite me ) The version I actually got was the DX version (was too late to grab a preorder for the regular one), which just includes more Decors than the regular  one, but you can get all the decors included in the DX separately. This toy is a reproduction of the transformation item the girls use to become Precures. This is my first time getting something like this! Back when Sailor Moon was airing and there was a whole bunch of toys, wands included, my parents only ever bought me the one Barbie-like doll ^^U I definitely should’ve gone with the wand, at least TT^TT I cannot fault them though, those were some expensive toys, especially back then.

As one expects, the Precure items are specifically made so they can be turned into toys for the little girls (and boys, why not) to buy. All I can say is, lucky bastards the ones who get one, poor unlucky fellows the ones who don’t. The detail of this item is great, it looks exactly the same as the one in the show to even the tiniest detail. It lights up just as, even the puff (whatever that is called) lights up according to what decor you use. When you use the ribbon decor from each respective Cure, the Pact and puff will light up accordingly to their color (Cure March = green). You don’t have to actually use the puff since you only need to press the middle, gold button, but it’s nice to play with it

The puff comes with batteries, and they can be replaced by taking out the soft fabric

The heart jewel extends, and the hear on the side is a button to turn it on

For some reason the blue jewel is not as bright as the others, and it’s not just mine

My favourite, Cure March

Size wise, in the show this is definitely bigger. The puff looks to be slightly bigger than the palm, and the Pact is bigger than the puff, so… Then again this can only be said when you look at the transformation sequences, and they’re 14 year old small Japanese girls, so most probably is just my old, big meaty hand dwarfing the toy D:

All the decors are pretty cute, so I definitely don’t mind having the DX version (in fact, I kinda wanna get the pouch and other crap ) In the show, the brooch (which looks like a make up compact) is used not only for transforming but also to activate the attacks and activate the numerous Decors (for ex. the strawberry one makes a giant strawberry to appear), but I’m not very sure how they’re supposed to be played with in the toy. They don’t seem to do anything special, they just say the name of the item and something along “something good might happen!” Maybe I’m not using it correctly ^^U The different sounds are activated by a series of combinations from the buttons the decors press, so if you don’t have a decor you could always use a couple of toothpicks XD

Like previous transformation items from other seasons, this one also includes a series of games that can be accessed by pressing the small white heart next to the gold button’s right side (the left one is just decoration). I don’t understand everything but this are the games

Color Fortune (No idea what you’re supposed to do on the second part)

Kakurenbo game
Tacchi tacchi game (You just have to turn off the color lights before time runs out)
Melody asobi (pretty stupid “game”)
Precure Sound (no idea what this does, actually)

The first five are pretty nice and very simple. I think a child would be amused, although I don’t know if for a long time. Anyways it’s a nice addition and it adds more value to the toy

It also includes a bracelet to carry around your favourite decors (loli size D:), and there are other merchandise used to carry or store decors.

As you can see they’re numbered (for some reason the ones in this set are random)

so collectors and shopping whores are “encouraged” to buy different sets to complete the decor collection (money money money money money ). I gotta say they look cute but I’m not sure if I’d want to buy more. It’s not like they do anything particularly special in the Smile Pact (that I know of), but then again if I were a little girl I’d go gaga for these plastic toys lol

I’ve seen some of the Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon toys, and I gotta say that if back then they were nice, they are even nicer now. This is definitely for those who like Magical Girl shows, and only the ones you really like a specific show. I certainly regret not getting any Sailor Moon transformation items or wands, but it’s not like I had my own money back then ^^U

This is quite a bit of box for items that take a less space, do you think I should ditch the box, or save it for collector value purposes?
